Our five Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down Units encompass 120 beds staffed for superior nursing care. Our nurses exemplify professional practice through continuing education, innovation, research and multidisciplinary team collaboration to provide patient-centered care that promotes quality and best outcomes for our patients. These units see the most complex cardiac cases worldwide.
As an Assistant Nurse Manager in our J62 and J52 Cardiothoracic Units, you will provide administrative, clerical, and practical support for the nurse manager.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
• Facilitating communication and collaboration among unit staff and other departments.
• Ensuring continuity of patient care information between shifts, coordinates patient admitting, discharges, transfers, and other operational issues.
• Reviewing major operational patient care issues with Nurse Managers.
• Provides ongoing clinical evaluations of nurses and other direct and indirect patient care provided on assigned unit/area.
• Counseling employees on performance issues, administers initial corrective actions, and collaborates in monitoring attendance issues.
