Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008. Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.
We are seeking a Senior Workspace & Desktop Engineer to design, implement, and manage a secure, high-performance global end-user computing environment. This role focuses on modern endpoint engineering, automation, virtualization, and collaboration technologies with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and security across all offices.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth across the Microsoft ecosystem and VDI platforms, with the ability to architect and maintain enterprise-grade workspace solutions in a regulated financial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineer and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Intune for scalable application delivery, configuration enforcement, and compliance across global endpoints.
- Develop and deploy automation scripts and integrations using PowerShell for zero-touch provisioning, patching, and compliance reporting.
- Manage device provisioning workflows for Windows and mobile platforms via Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, and modern MDM strategies.
- Package and deploy enterprise applications using PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) via SCCM/Intune with minimal disruption.
- Administer and optimize VMware Horizon or Azure Virtual Desktop environments (persistent and non-persistent) with advanced profile management like FSLogix or Liquidware ProfileUnity
- Implement performance tuning and monitoring for latency-sensitive and high-value users.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to ensure resilient, secure, and performant virtual workspace delivery.
- Design and Engineer conference room experiences with products like Zoom, Teams, Neat, Poly, or Logitech integrations
- Support and enhance Cisco VoIP, Teams, Slack, and Zoom in VDI
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of global collaboration and meeting room systems.
- Integrate and maintain endpoint security platforms including CrowdStrike, Tanium, and Microsoft Defender.
- Implement device trust, identity integration, and Conditional Access policies using Microsoft security frameworks.
- Enforce least privilege and zero trust principles across workspace and endpoint configurations.
- Partner with Security Operations to identify risks, harden device baselines, and improve incident response readiness.
- Define and maintain desktop engineering standards, images, and configuration baselines aligned with firm-wide IT and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve performance, reliability, and automation in the workspace environment.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years in Workspace, Desktop, or EUC Engineering roles within financial services or another regulated, performance-sensitive environment.
- Deep experience with SCCM, Intune, Active Directory, and Exchange Online.
- Proficiency with Citrix Cloud, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop platforms.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Hands-on knowledge of endpoint security tooling (CrowdStrike, Tanium, Defender).
- Familiarity with MDM/EMM platforms, Windows Autopilot, and Apple Business Manager.
- Knowledge of video conferencing and AV systems (Zoom, Teams, Logitech, Crestron, Poly).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation abilities.
- Clear communicator able to collaborate across infrastructure, security, and compliance teams.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of owning complex systems end-to-end.
- Ability to discuss business requirements, firm-wide goals and build consensus and agreement.
- Experience with automation pipelines, application packaging, and compliance reporting.
- Familiarity with zero trust, identity management, and endpoint hardening frameworks.
