JOB DESCRIPTION
Guidehouse is searching for an experienced Software Development Project Manager to lead the delivery of scientific software solutions in a biomedical research environment at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The ideal candidate has a strong background in managing complex software development projects using Agile/SCRUM methodologies and is comfortable working with highly technical, research-driven stakeholders. This opportunity is a full-time position with Guidehouse.
The project manager will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop, maintain, and promote a variety of publicly available web and mobile applications. The Project Manager is responsible for facilitating SCRUM ceremonies, working with technical leads to translate scientific requirements into actionable development plans, managing timelines and dependencies, and coordinating cross-functional teams of developers, researchers, and data specialists. The Project Manager will serve as a key liaison between software teams and principal investigators, ensuring alignment between research objectives, technical feasibility, and delivery commitments. The role will serve as an integral member of a team consisting of informatics scientists, data architects, IT personnel, and scientific researchers. The role will support the project development team in keeping with the NIAID Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role will involve coordination between system users, researchers, subject matter experts, and software development team members. The role will assist with planning and organizing project activities, including tracking and validating deliverables, planning and adjusting timelines, and performing other administrative management duties under the direction of federal program managers.
