Job Purpose

  • Responsible for safely transporting patients to and from radiology imaging areas. Responsible for darkroom maintenance to include film processing and copying. Assists with film and report filing as necessary. Assists all departments with patient exam preparation and positioning as indicated. Works with all members of hospital STAFF and patients to provide effective communication to ensure the quality of patient care.

Job Requirements:

Education:

   

High School education or equivalent

Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Current NCT permit through the Texas Medical Board.

Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years of healthcare related experience in your field.
  • Customer service experience preferred

Related Work Experience and Other Skills:

  • Must be able to work with other staff members to foster a team approach to the highest quality of patient care and staff cooperation.

Job Roles:

  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality, and will use complete discretion when discussing patient information.
  • Maintains work area and reception area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Implements patient care and patient follow-up to include the notification of results under, tasking messages, phone calls, and updating patient information under the guidance and direction of the all physicians and/or practice manager.
  • Advises Office Manager of problems and concerns in X-Ray and helps in problem solving.
  • Attends educational and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Determine and input daily balance of charges and receipts as assigned by the Office Manager.
  • Follows established policies and procedures; adheres to OSHA Regulations.
  • Assists physicians and/or MA’s in providing care to patients in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. Takes patient history and vitals.
  • Demonstrates an extensive working knowledge and practice of infection control procedures. Cleans and disinfects all instruments and maintain QA reports for the autoclave.
  • Performs all X-rays and PFT.
  • Maintains and follows all office policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional tasks, special projects and/or duties as assigned
