About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a dynamic and adaptable Information Security Analyst to join our Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about building scalable, sustainable processes that support enterprise-wide risk management and compliance initiatives. This role is part of the Wells Fargo Technology Cybersecurity organization, specifically within the Information Protection Governance team and with a focus on Information Classification Governance and Policy adherence monitoring. 


In this role, you will:

  • Work in Cybersecurity as part of the Information Protection Governance team, with responsibility for understanding the broader governance program and monitoring adherence to the Information Protection Policy.
  • Govern the company-wide Information Classification Matrix (ICM), ensuring routine updates, audit-ready documentation, and informed decision-making on proposed changes.
  • Support ICM governance and general inquiries by researching, triaging, and drafting responses to email and Jira requests.
  • Attend key meetings and capture accurate, actionable minutes to ensure alignment and follow-through.
  • Support automated classification of diverse file types (e.g., PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, Visio) using predefined rules and contextual analysis to enhance policy compliance and reduce manual review.
  • Provide transparent classification rationale with evidence-based insights to support compliance and audit readiness.
  • Integrate validated document scanning tools to identify sensitive data elements and assess risk, policy alignment, and regulatory implications
  • Deploy and maintain innovative tools—including AI-powered assistants, automated documentation generators, and analytics dashboards—to streamline Information Classification Matrix (ICM) governance, enhance compliance, reduce manual overhead, and optimize workload management through data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with Information Protection team members, data owners, and engineering teams to address issues, automate processes, and achieve goals.
  • Identify, assess, and onboard data sources relevant to cybersecurity risk and compliance, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  • Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights, reduce noise, and identify key risk indicators and compliance gaps.
  • Develop executive-ready dashboards and reports that provide an aggregated view of risk posture, along with detailed technical reports to guide remediation efforts.
  • Define and apply criteria for escalating high-risk issues to senior leadership, ensuring escalations are clear, concise, and actionable.
  • Support governance routines and risk committee reporting with accurate, timely, and strategic communication.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Information Security Analysis experience or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience or a related field, training, military experience or a related field, or education.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance principles related to Information Security policies.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in data automation and workflow tools—including MS PowerApps, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.—with hands-on experience in automating data ingestion, transformation (ETL), reduction, processing, and visualization to support scalable and efficient GRC operations.
  • Experience with AI-based classification and document scanning tools.
  • Strong documentation skills including design diagrams, process flows, and content writing.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Jira.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Should be familiar with financial institution security procedures and policies especially with data handling & protection.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables concurrently and influence across organizational levels.

  • Work independently to conduct governance routines on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
  • Retrieve and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform data reduction and processing to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor progress on action plans
  • Prepare executive-ready reports highlighting critical risk areas.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows for data ingestion, processing, and reporting.
