Job Summary:
Lead and develop a team of Systems and Specialty engineers as part of the System Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Team. The Systems Engineering (SE) Team supports all Northrop Grumman Fuze and Warhead Operating Unit programs in the areas of requirements development and management, architecture development, system analysis specialty engineering (SpE), including safety engineering, reliability engineering, and product cybersecurity.
Specific responsibilities:
- Drive Team technical excellence in SE and SpE through the application of classical SE and SpE principles and processes using modern processes and tools.
- Drive the development of product lifecycle, model-based solutions to the integration of systems, design, test, manufacturing engineering analyses and data.
- Balance group workload and staffing requirements to meet current and future program needs. Staff all programs.
- Prepare labor and material estimates in support of proposals.
- Coach direct reports in the areas of career development, performance, and teamwork.
- Provide training and development opportunities. Provide continual feedback and hold quarterly performance communications.
- Effectively lead a diverse team of systems and specialty engineers in a dynamic product development environment.
- Provide subject matter expertise in several SE and SpE domains.
- Perform as the assigned SE or SpE on selected programs; this is a working manager role.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of Engineering experience.
- Possess or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance required.
- Team management and/or Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership experience.
- Experience with electronic subsystem and energetic materials strongly preferred.
- Experience with Cameo System Modeler or similar tool strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Department team leadership, supervisory, or people management experience.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and managing work in Jira are preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in US DoD product development and acquisition approaches.
- Experience with fast paced agile team engagement on development and production.
Salary Range: $120,800.00 - $181,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
