Summary: The Technical Data Migration Lead (Offshore) is responsible for leading the offshore technical team executing data migration activities for the transition from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA.
This role focuses primarily on technical execution, ETL development, data load processes, and technical coordination with the onsite functional and data teams. The lead ensures that migration programs, transformations, validations, and loads are developed and executed according to the migration plan.
The role also involves managing offshore developers, ensuring code quality, resolving technical issues, and delivering migration cycles on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the offshore data migration development team.
Assign and track technical development tasks for migration objects.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and development best practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers and ETL specialists.
Act as the primary offshore technical contact for the onsite data migration lead and architects.
Develop reusable data transformation frameworks and templates.
Work with functional teams to analyze and resolve data inconsistencies.
Troubleshoot data load errors, system performance issues, and integration problems.
Support data extraction from legacy systems and databases.
Participate in daily migration standups and status reporting.
Provide technical status updates and risk escalation.
Support development of data reconciliation reports and validation scripts.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Strong experience with **SAP S/4HANA implementations or conversions.
Hands-on expertise in:
o SAP Data Services
o SAP Migration Cockpit
o LSMW
o ABAP development
o SQL and data transformation techniques

Leadership Skills
Experience leading offshore development teams.
Ability to manage multiple migration objects and delivery timelines.
Strong technical problem-solving
Ability to work with global teams across time zones.
Strong communication skills for technical discussions with onsite teams.

Experience Requirements
8+ years of SAP functional/technical experience.
4+ years of experience in SAP data migration projects.
Hands-on experience in at least two full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration.
Experience managing offshore delivery teams.

15 years full time education
