Job Summary:

Prepares shipment documents for delivery of finished goods to our valued customers. Calculates freight charges and performs invoicing of loads. Requisitions transportation from freight carriers to ship plant products. Plans loads and ensures trailers are filled to capacity. Coordinates with International/Domestic dealers and dealer pickups and delivery times.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluates options for maximizing under-utilized trailer capacity and locates additional stop opportunities.
  • Evaluates ship ground orders for completion and loading readiness, working closely with various Brokers setting up live loads.
  • Works with OTM load planning on changes to loads, etc. Works extensively with RDC Dock loads/Direct Loads/International loads.
  • Assigns Carrier to load using OTM carrier assignment.
  • Evaluates carrier equipment capacity and availability in relationship to upcoming Lane assignments. Offer certain loads out to Live loading.
  • Receive and check-in all Warranty Service items and arrange for shipment.  Update database with shipped information. 
  • Print custom labels for various dealers.
  • Process paperwork for all employee bills.
  • Identifies incomplete ship groups on load list. Marks load list for must-ship units.  Attach trailer inspection sheet to load list.
  • Constantly monitor loads to keep work flowing to loading teams in the warehouse.
  • Works with boxed not shipped report information to ensure current week units ship on time.
  • Works with WHSE 8 orders and processes them for shipment.
  • Responds and follows up on shipping inquiries for boxed units.
  • Monitor loads sent to shipping department to ensure they are returned to office promptly.
  • Perform corrections to paperwork after loading is completed. Perform invoicing of load after carrier pick-up.
  • Ensure that proper truckload rate is applied to shipment.
  • Check Live loads/Containers etc. check in and out times and log.
  • Process Live Loads in a timely manner.
  • Fax paperwork to distribution centers and dealers. Report shipping of load in computer system.
  • Send paperwork (non-live loads) to Guard Shack.
  • Release shipments to carriers with phone call, e-mail, or fax.
  • Utilize E1 system for multiple functions including but not limited to load maintenance, sales orders, ship confirmations, load tag maintenance, pre-assignments, and advance tasks.
  • Perform daily follow-up on all loads not picked up by carrier previous day.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

Position is critical to maximizing transportation costs and on-time delivery to our dealers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years or relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic keyboarding skills (Work, Excel, Access)
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with outside parties, plant staff and customers
  • Strong ability to anticipate consequences and appropriately interpret multi-dimensional decision tree procedures
  • Adaptability to changing business conditions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience with JD Edwards (E1) or other warehouse management systems preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with transportation management operations
  • Experience with scheduling transportation pick-up and deliveries
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
