Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance; maintain and repair tractors/trailers within the distribution facility, maintain appropriate documentation of maintenance.   

Here’s what you’ll do: 

  • Responsible for basic preventative, routine maintenance to include changing oil, breaks, batteries, etc. for equipment; maintain and complete basic repairs of semi tractors or trailers.  
  • Diagnose problems, disassemble engines, and examine parts for defects and excessive wear.
  • Recondition and replace parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and brushings.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance inspections and repairs of heavy mobile equipment. Conduct safety inspections of maintenance tools and equipment.

Here’s what you’ll need: 

  • Commercial Driver's License (Preferred) 
  • Driver’s License (Required) 
  • Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools required.  
  • Must have necessary mechanic tools to maintain and repair machinery and equipment's.  
  • Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled. 
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.  
  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.  
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and DOT standards, regulations and requirements.

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
