Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager - Insurance to join our team! The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing insurable risk, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing strategic advice to clients and internal stakeholders on all insurance related matters.
This position requires a deep understanding of the insurance industry, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients, insurers, and brokers.
What You'll Be Doing;
- Oversee and manage a diverse regional portfolio of corporate and project specific insurance policies, including property, liability, professional liability and other specialized coverages.
- Evaluate existing insurance programs and recommend improvements to optimize coverage and cost and respond to regional issues.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential exposures and develop and implement appropriate insurance solutions for project risks.
- Develop tailored insurance solutions to meet the unique needs of clients or the organization.
- Analyze claims data and trends to mitigate future risks and improve underwriting outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with local insurance regulations in the region.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance laws, industry standards and implement necessary adjustments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and clients to achieve optimal outcomes in project and corporate insurance programs.
- Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert in insurance for the legal and project teams in the region.
- Provide training and support to project teams and risk owners to ensure appropriate understanding of insurable risks and insurance approaches to facilitate risk mitigation strategies throughout the project life-cycle.
- Lead development of downstream insurance specifications for subcontracts and procurement operations appropriate to the portfolio of subconsultants utilized.
- Prepare reports on insurance performance, claims, and risk assessments for senior management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all insurance-related activities.\
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as ACII, CPCU, or local industry equivalent are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the insurance industry.
- Proven expertise in managing complex insurance portfolios and claims.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk management practices.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as a partner (without authority or P&L responsibility) and build strong relationships across the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the insurance markets and regulatory environments in the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia.
