Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by leading the local representation of ABB’s Global Divisions for Energy and Process Industries, driving profitable growth, and building high performing teams that deliver impact for customers and communities.  In your role you’ll hold full accountability for Profit and Loss of these divisions in NZ  which includes portfolio management, business performance, and people leadership within New Zealand, with oversight of Marketing & Sales, Service Execution, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operational Excellence. You’ll also play a pivotal role in translating global and hub strategies into strong local execution, while upholding ABB’s values, safety, and integrity standards.

This opportunity arises following the promotion of the current incumbent into a regional leadership role within ABB, offering a strong platform to build on an established business and shape the next phase of growth.

  • Define and implement the local portfolio and product group strategy aligned with Global Division and Hub objectives to drive profitable organic and inorganic growth.
  • Lead business performance across Marketing & Sales, Service Execution, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operational Excellence, ensuring achievement of financial and strategic targets.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships while expanding market presence through effective go to market strategies, channel penetration, and protection of the installed base.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop multi functional teams while ensuring full compliance with ABB’s health, safety, integrity, and governance standards.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Significant senior leadership experience, including leading complex, multi functional teams within a relevant industry.
  • Demonstrated ownership of P&L with strong commercial acumen and proven success across sales and go to market models.
  • Experience delivering solutions for complex applications across industry sectors such as Energy, Process Industries, Oil & Gas, or Power Generation.
  • Strategic, customer focused mindset with a strong ability to deliver results through people and collaboration.
  • Solid technical foundation enabling the development and delivery of integrated, customer centric solutions.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
