Job Summary
Responsible for delivering high quality massage and body work services. Uses touch, pressure and movement to restore health and well-being. Will use the application of water, heat, cold, lubrication, salt scrub, body wrap and other topical applications to achieve outstanding customer service.
Essential Functions
- Provide professional, safe, appropriate and effective massage and/or body work services using industry recommended processes and procedures and in accordance with policies and procedures while demonstrating outstanding customer service throughout. Perform consultations using recommended procedures.
- Perform health history and update records prior to each session; ascertain precautions/contradictions prior to each session. Observe client reaction to services and modify technique as necessary; solicit feedback and respond accordingly. Prepare, administer and document all sessions, procedures and therapies according to established policies and procedures. Document the patient/client response to care and modify the plan of care accordingly.
- Assist in the scheduling and maintenance of appointments and maintaining an accurate daily log of activity and revenue received. Assist in the collection of fees, accepting payments, processing money or credit card payments per policy and records each accurately to ensure the safekeeping of funds.
- Proactively acquire new clients and preserve existing client relationships. Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of all products/procedures, emphasize product benefits and encourage home care program.
- Implement physician’s orders in accordance with policies. Works closely with referring physician to develop care plan unique to patient. Recommends patient/client to the physician for any advanced medical procedure.
- Maintain all equipment in working order. Organize, label and maintain supplies in an orderly fashion. Notify management of all maintenance, environmental services, physicians, administrative, or office needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment room, prep room, and spa/center in general, assisting in the locker, laundry and/or waiting area as needed; responsible for sanitation procedures of all tools used after each patient/client.
- Prepare treatment rooms with all necessary supplies and equipment, ensure proper sanitation procedures are utilized following patient/client usage and dispose of used linens as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required Vocational/Technical Graduate of a recognized school for Massage Therapy
- Previous work experience Required
- LIC-Massage Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan required
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
