Job Description

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Portfolio Manager to actively manage and trade the Principal Finance Portfolio in the Bahamas.

What will you do?

  • Identify opportunities and analyze credit on CLO and student loan ABS securities for the portfolio
  • Cultivate and maintain counterparty relationships in securitized products
  • Remain constantly aware of trading levels on all sectors of the portfolio, understanding how prices change as the macro environment evolves to spot trends in the market that may have an impact on the portfolio or portfolio strategy.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the market that may produce opportunities to increase profitability or add to existing businesses.
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Identify, assess and manage operational risks/controls deficiencies in your business.
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor degree in [Business, Finance, Mathematic, Economics, or other highly quantitative field.
  • Strong knowledge of RBC, Financial Industry and Bank Regulatory framework.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven and successful experience in Securitized Products as a Trader, or Fixed Income Portfolio Manager.
  • Must have a series 7 & 63
  • Well versed in review and understanding of securitized products deal documents and security structures and collateral analysis.
  • Familiar with all types of bonds and should be willing and able to increase knowledge as new products are introduced to the market.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Bloomberg, IntexCalc, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice-to-have

  • Demonstrated technical acumen with MS Excel/VBA, or other programming languages, SQL, statistical programming languages, and/ or data visualization.
  • Experience with Polypaths.
