POSITION SUMMARY

Contribute to the objectives’ achievement of the China IG sub region business as well as by providing sound business advice and operational analysis support and by ensuring appropriate controls are in place to maintain the financial integrity of the business. 

This position requires a broad range of competencies including both strong interpersonal skills (teamwork, communication, planning & organizing, leading and influencing) and technical skills (financial analysis skills, accounting knowledge, computer modeling, problem solving).

NATURE AND SCOPE

The individual’s primary focus is to support China IG sub region business to achieve a profitable growth across a portfolio of products and an efficient operating cost structure. 

This position is expected to work closely with the Asset and Commercial team in the development of strategic initiatives and to provide ongoing operational analysis support for existing assets’ management across the various business product lines from various merchant product lines (packaged gas, micro bulk, liquid bulk etc.) to onsite (across small onsite to Tonnage/Francise). The position will also play a critical role to help the business and functional supporting teams to shape their development strategy or routes sorting for a better asset and investment utilization purpose. The position may also face chance to participate in the joint venture finance management. She/he should act as a key interface and leading the communication among Asset team and various regional Business Managers and APCI support groups such as PDO, Tax, Legal, Treasury and Accounting.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To accomplish the dual commercial and functional responsibilities of the position the incumbent should possess a broad range of competencies including both strong interpersonal skills (teamwork, communication, planning & organizing, leading and influencing) and technical skills (financial analysis skills, accounting knowledge, computer modeling, problem solving).

• University degree in Business/Economics/Engineering, a good MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 5-6 years progressive industry experience in financial analysis, preferably inclusive of previous exposure to the application of financial modeling techniques to large project analysis.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills and ability to think strategically about business opportunities and investments. Must have strong commercial sense and solid knowledge of industrial gas business various supply modes.
• Excellent initiative, ability to work independently with limited supervision and flexibility to adapt quickly in a multi-functional team environment.
• Sharp business acumen and understand business’s perspective but insistent on controllership role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Controllership mindset and results driven attitude.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performs financial analysis for related on-going operational work including but not limited to monthly & quarterly closing, annual budget, capital forecast, project make good, and other ad hoc requests.
• Prepares financial analysis in support of capital expenditure authorization, marketing transaction authority requests for management review and approval, coordinates input/review with tax and treasury and where necessary.
• Provide finance analysis, suggestion and process controlling for business and functional supporting teams to shape their nonroutine needs, such as productivity and cost control analysis, new opportunity development analysis and control roll or contract deviation solving analysis.
• Any other ad hoc financial analysis duties as assigned.
