The Opportunity

We’re looking for a commercially focused sales leader to grow Storyful’s video revenue in North America—responsible for driving growth across our core Newswire product, in addition to opening up new opportunities for our verified UGC in brand, agency, and production environments.

The role suits someone with strong commercial instincts and a proactive approach to building pipeline—comfortable identifying opportunities, leading outreach, and closing new business across both editorial and non-editorial markets.

You’ll work directly with publishers, broadcasters, and emerging content buyers to position Storyful’s verified video as a trusted asset across industries. This is a high-impact role with clear revenue targets and the opportunity to shape our commercial strategy in a key growth region—working closely with Marketing and Editorial to ensure our go-to-market approach is client-driven and content-aligned.

Key Responsibilities

New Business & Revenue Growth

  • Own revenue targets across Newswire and licensing, delivering sustained growth through both renewals and new business

  • Build and convert a high-quality pipeline through targeted outreach and strategic prospecting

  • Identify where Storyful’s verified video delivers editorial, brand, or audience value—and tailor pitches accordingly

  • Lead commercial negotiations and structure scalable deals aligned with client needs and rights frameworks

Content Licensing & Non-Editorial Expansion

  • Drive growth in licensing and video clearance by identifying and closing new opportunities outside traditional editorial use

  • Translate Storyful’s strength in discovering compelling UGC into commercial value for brands, agencies, production companies, and platforms

  • Understand emerging content use cases—across campaigns, documentaries, and platform originals—and position Storyful content accordingly

Editorial Sales & Upsell Strategy

  • Own commercial outcomes for key Newswire accounts, including upsell, renewal, and revenue growth

  • Work closely with Editorial Partnerships to align on client goals, newsroom needs, and usage priorities

  • Identify and close upsell opportunities tied to content access, licensing volume, or cross-functional value

  • Ensure commercial packages are positioned effectively based on how verified UGC supports editorial workflows

Market Insights & Sales Enablement

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline reporting in Salesforce

  • Share actionable client feedback and competitive insights to inform content, product, and licensing strategy

  • Contribute to go-to-market planning and messaging in collaboration with Marketing and Product

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years of sales or business development experience in media, digital content, or licensing

  • Demonstrated ability to exceed revenue targets and close strategic deals

  • Experience selling digital video or rights-cleared content is strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with newsroom workflows, UGC, and video licensing processes

  • Proven ability to manage both long-cycle strategic deals and fast-moving licensing requests

  • Self-starter with strong CRM discipline and a solutions-oriented mindset (Salesforce experience preferred)

  • Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder who can influence across internal and client teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Experience collaborating with legal, editorial, or production teams in a cross-functional sales environment

  • Background in journalism, digital content, or social video platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok) is a plus

Pay Range: 140,000 - 175,000 + Bonus
