We are looking for a talented and innovative Junior Data Scientist to join our AI and Machine Learning team. This individual will support the development of AI solutions and work closely with our senior data scientists to create and deploy machine learning models, focusing on Generative AI and NLP technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate data scientist to work on projects that deliver real business value to our clients, including federal agencies and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, building, and deploying machine learning models and Generative AI solutions, utilizing technologies such as OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo, LangChain, and other NLP frameworks.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to develop AI models tailored to client requirements, such as document automation, financial compliance (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering tools), and grant querying systems.
  • Conduct data extraction, cleaning, and analysis using Python, R, SQL, and SAS to prepare datasets for modeling.
  • Optimize data workflows and processes to enhance efficiency, supporting initiatives like federal data network modernization.
  • Develop and maintain AI-enabled frameworks and support Agile delivery models to streamline implementation.
  • Implement data visualization solutions using Tableau, Power BI, and Visio to communicate insights effectively.
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models on cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and using containerization tools like Docker.
  • Participate in client meetings, project timeline discussions, and assist in resource allocation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Master of Science in Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and SAS.
    • Experience with machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and LangChain.
    • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud Platform, AWS) and containerization tools (Docker).
    • Strong data visualization skills using Tableau, Power BI, and Visio.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in data analysis, feature engineering, and machine learning model development.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, leadership qualities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Remote Work: The position is hybrid.

Preferred Experience: 

  • Involvement in AI projects for federal clients, experience with financial compliance tools (e.g., Anti-Money Laundering), and experience in data strategy roles.
  • Previous experience with AI chatbot development using Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
  • Exposure to Agile project management and AI-enabled delivery frameworks.
  • Leadership roles in non-profit or NGO initiatives, showcasing strong communication and project management skills.
