About the role: 

This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba (SVPHT) as an Assistant in Nursing in our busy Day Surgery Unit. You will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide essential support before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will contribute to maintaining a safe environment, assisting with patient flow, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, equipment readiness, and patient comfort.

 St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs. We are a 191-bed facility with highly experienced and skilled staff that work as a team to deliver the highest standard of healthcare to all our patients. Our services include medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, emergency, cardiac and rehabilitation. We are supported by comprehensive allied health services and advanced medical and diagnostic services. Pathology, radiology and pharmacy are also available on site, and our emergency department is open 24 hours, seven days a week.

Things that work for us:

  • Ability to work on a casual basis

  • Essential qualifications: Relevant TAFE Certificate ie Certificate III health/aged care and/or have successfully completed second year bachelor of nursing studies clinical placement 

  • Previous experience in a hospital setting Is desirable

  • Ability to provide clinical practice and care that is consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Facility. 

  • Ability to assist in the performance of nursing duties in an efficient and prompt manner as delegated by a Registered Nurse or an Enrolled Nurse. 

  • Have a demonstrated application of contemporary infection control standards and practices

  • Proven ability to work a 7-day rotating roster, weekends and nights included.
