Reporting to the Cooler Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating fruit receiving and shipping in a fast-paced, multi-shift operation. The Distribution Supervisor ensures smooth operations,
optimizes work schedules, manages logistics, and promotes a strong safety culture while supporting team members' professional growth. The ideal candidate is results-driven, goal-oriented, and committed to
meeting key performance metrics. They have a proven ability to implement process improvements that enhance productivity and efficiency.   • Position demands a flexible work schedule; to include overtime, weekends, on call, day/mid/night shift, and holidays, including other work functions within Distribution for example: (export, inbound, outbound, long cane, shipping area). High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience working in a fast-paced distribution environment highly preferred.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal & written communications; (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of receiving, cooling, storage, rotation, and shipping of fruit, highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and problem solve in a timely manner.
  • Must be a self-starter, dependable, reliable and can work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as data entry and the ability to run reports. Preferred Qualifications & Leadership Competencies
  • California driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company-sponsored vehicle insurance program.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel internationally without restrictions.

Compensation & Benefits:


The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted.  The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors. 

Salary range estimated for this role is: 70,000-80,000USD Anually

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative environment, serving in a leadership role and as part of the Distribution management team.

  • Continually provides exceptional customer service and communication to the internal and external customers, communicating via phone and email with various departments (Food Safety, Sales, Harvest Planners, other Supply Chain groups, etc.) while fulfilling orders in the distribution center.

  • Adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to ship berries within the designated aging parameters.

  • Ensure the distribution center complies with company METRCs, covering multiple DC Cooler graded responsibilities across three or more key focus areas.

  • On-time Communication: Provide updates to Management on operational performance, employee matters, and safety concerns, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

  • Encourage Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the Safety Culture team to increase safety awareness. Ensure staff follow safety protocols and quickly submit necessary injury reports.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate approach to inventory, addressing discrepancies in inventory management systems for fruit, materials, and plants, while ensuring adherence to Driscoll’s Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Effectively multitask during peak season to complete tasks while ensuring daily operations are managed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Manage daily shipping logistics and appointment coordination, ensuring all orders are accurately documented and processed for the business day, and report any scheduling conflicts to the manager.

  • Employee Shift Planning: Develop and manage weekly schedules that ensure operational coverage, minimize gaps, and comply with rest day requirements while properly allocating break and lunch periods.

  • Monitor employees’ daily performance and provide coaching, as necessary. Provide feedback for employees’ performance reviews (including training Matrix).

  • Cross training of staff (forklift training if applicable).

  • Maintaining distribution center up to Standard Manufacturing Practices (Housekeeping).

  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe environment and all within compliance of the Safety program.

  • Represents Driscoll’s in an ethical and business-like professional manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers, and the business community at large
