Job Description Summary:

The IT Engineer role will report to the IT Advisor or Manager and works in collaboration with infrastructure senior IT engineers, advisors, applications teams, IT field services, project managers, and 3rd party vendors to plan and oversee the implementation, operation, and performance of technologies within their respective specialty area of responsibility. The primary focus of this role is on operational performance, documentation, and project leadership. This role is highly skilled in their respective technology area such as physical infrastructure, network, telecom, endpoint, platforms, data center, storage, and/or security.

Responsibilities And Duties:

45% - Operations
Works with internal customers, IT field services, and 3rd party vendors to communicate, document, coordinate, manage expectations, approve, and assist with operational processes such as crisis management, support escalation, change management, release management, capacity management, and other ITIL processes; Acts as an escalation point for IT field services for support work;
45% - Technical Leadership
Represents their respective specialty area for projects acting as a technical lead ensuring OhioHealth standards compliance; works with specialty area team to remove barriers, document, and communicate ensuring project success
5% - Vendor Management
Works with 3rd party vendors to ensure services are delivered on time and with quality; Engage vendors as needed to ensure service/solutions performing optimally
5% - Technology Strategy
Participates in the development of technology strategy and roadmap within a given area of specialty including design, documentation, communication, and implementation of new or existing standards for infrastructure technologies while remaining current on industry trends

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Computer and Information Science

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Degree in Computer Information Services, Healthcare, Healthcare Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Specialized Knowledge: Highly skilled around the specialized technologies or processes necessary to support clinical and information systems along with the ability to gather, analyze and interpret business drivers to support the program and organization. Project management and process excellence with strong analytical data-driven approach to problem solving.  Strong interpersonal skills along with proven leadership.  Working knowledge of and experience across all IT technologies, such as endpoint devices, servers, security, network, storage, telecom.

Kind and Length of Experience: 5 or more years of experience in technical setting. Participation in process improvement or project work.

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

Specialized Knowledge: Extremely self-motivated with the ability to drive resources toward deadlines and manage ambiguity to effectively solve problems by embracing the health system's highly dynamic, constantly changing environment. Knowledge of regulatory compliance is beneficial.  Experience leading small to medium, complex projects across multiple functional departments. Experience in a complex healthcare organization is beneficial.  The ability to explain complex technical ideas and issues to both technical and non-technical audiences is desired.
