As a Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for keeping our product up and running, helping the development team make patches to the environment, and adjusting deployment pipelines as necessary.

You will be embedded in the engineering team, collaborating with other DevOps engineers and the Head of Infrastructure, and providing appropriate coverage for the UTC-10 timezone. As an applicant, you must be physically present in Australia or New Zealand. At times, you may be expected to cover an on-call schedule.

Candidate profile

  • Background in Computer Science or any related field such as Mathematics & Physics.

  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar software engineering role.

  • Experience with and advanced knowledge of Docker.

  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Terraform. Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure-as-code.

  • Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services.

  • Good knowledge of Kubernetes, substantial experience deploying, managing, and scaling applications with Kubernetes, and basic familiarity with ArgoCD.

  • Knowledge of version control, CI/CD, and GitHub Actions.

  • Absolute reliability and ability to work independently.

  • Fluent in English communication, both written and spoken.

  • Problem-solving attitude, great eye for detail, and collaborative team spirit.

Nice to have

  • Fluency in different programming languages, including Bash, Python, and/or Javascript

  • Hands-on experience with blockchain infrastructure, from node setup to data consumption from different providers (e.g. Infura, Alchemy, etc)

  • AWS Professional Certification

  • Experience with blockchain systems, bridges, and layer-2 solutions


Responsibilities

  • Ramping up to the full understanding of how a product is deployed and operated

  • Understanding of how a system looks when it is healthy, and the ability to follow and trace the data in an end-to-end manner when understanding on-going issues

  • Keeping a product up and investigating downtime or deployment-related issues

  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats

  • Helping software engineers promote new releases and patches

  • Working with the rest of the team on triaging bugs and merging fixes, including possible over time hours in case of emergencies

  • Being on-call according to a predefined schedule (daytime PST/EST hours)

  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes

  • Willing to learn about blockchain and keep up with the field as required
