Job Summary:

The Senior Vice President and President serves as the "face of Wellstar" not only within the hospital and Health System, but also across the facility's service area and throughout the state. As such, the President must be a visible leader and an advocate for the hospital and system both internally and externally.
The SVP and Market President is responsible for collaboratively developing the vision of the hospital and implementing the strategic direction in concert with hospital and system level leadership. The SVP and Market President will lead the organization in maintaining and enhancing their culture, which is focused on the highest level of commitment to quality outcomes, patient experience, employee trust and engagement, physician satisfaction, operational discipline, financial stewardship, accountability, and pride.
Wellstar Health System expects/is seeking an experienced health care executive who will manage these functions in a self-directed manner while keeping Wellstar Health System executives engaged. The SVP and Market President will seek out and capitalize on the advantages of regional and system resources including scale, people, and intellectual capital.
The SVP and Market President will be an experienced healthcare leader of the highest integrity, playing a pivotal role in defining and leading the future vision for the hospital while being accountable for enhancing the organization's reputation as the premier patient-centered hospital in the market. This executive must be innovative with demonstrated ability to execute on strategies in a manner that ensures the organization will operate at maximum efficiency and quality. This leader will be involved in a variety of Wellstar committees and projects as requested.
This position will have a direct reporting relationship to the Executive Vice President and will be closely aligned to the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board members.

Essential Functions:

In all of the above, the new Market President will provide leadership and guidance for the purposes of articulating and continuing to build the competitive advantage through delivering the system’s aims of quality, cost, patient experience, physician and employee engagement, and commitment to the community.

Required Minimum Education:

Master's Degree Healthcare administration, business, or a related discipline.

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 10 years a background that includes significant leadership experience in a progressive, complex healthcare organization or integrated delivery system is required. 10 years of experience in a leadership role of a hospital or health system is required. Required and
Experience in a multi-hospital system is preferred as is experience with Lean/Six Sigma. Preferred

Demonstrated success and expertise in broad strategic and operational healthcare leadership, including past successes capturing additional market share in a competitive environment, while at the same time improving patient satisfaction, employee engagement, fiscal performance and clinical quality.
Demonstrated leadership abilities as evidenced by the development of engaged team members, effective performance management, and achievement of targeted goals.
Commitment to community involvement and development of effective Board relationships.
