Job Description

The Manager of Investor Relations will be responsible for executing strategic initiatives for existing and prospective investors in the private equity group’s private funds. This will include providing day to day support for investor relations coverage of the flagship Brookfield Capital Partners strategy. The individual will interact with all levels of the private equity organization, including senior leadership and investment professionals, along with colleagues across the other Brookfield platforms.

The successful candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong financial mindset who can adapt to a fast-paced environment, offer innovative solutions, and has proven verbal and written communication skills. The role will report to the Vice President.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage inquiries from existing and prospective private fund investors as it relates to financial information, portfolio company updates, RFI’s and adhoc requests

  • Coordinate and prepare key deliverables for senior management including investor communications, quarterly fund webcasts and investment updates

  • Crisply and effectively articulate Brookfield’s private equity strategy to stakeholders, including describing new transaction activity as well as ongoing portfolio updates

  • Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging both verbally and in written format

  • Plan recurring and adhoc investor meetings, including Brookfield’s annual private funds investor conference, and all related materials

  • Participate and coordinate in fundraising activities for the private equity group

  • Take the pen on written responses to topical items relevant to the business, and be able to communicate the firm’s views internally and externally

  • Execute on strategic initiatives within the group

  • Actively coordinate co-investment processes

  • Work with peers in other Brookfield platforms to identify best practices to ensure quality and consistency of IR materials

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting or finance

  • CPA and/or CFA designation preferred

  • 4+ years of experience in any of the following disciplines: capital markets, investment banking, accounting, equity research, corporate development, investor relations, transaction services

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • A solid understanding of financial reporting and valuation models; knowledge of private equity investment structures is preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce and FISDX (Sungard) is preferred

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, global environment with demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize competing tasks and demands under tight deadlines

  • Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations

  • Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail

  • Team player with positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive; ability to work in an unstructured environment
