The pay rate or range for this position is: $25.00 to $27.00 per hour


 

Job Summary

Oversees team of Logistics Technicians. Distributes and collects incoming packages. Processes outgoing packages. Able to multi-task between various shipping and receiving duties. Receives and documents packages, pickup and deliver to goods across campus buildings. Contributes to overall team in various capacities. Coverage resource for other area support sites.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Receive, sort, and deliver all incoming and outgoing packages
  • Continuously improves customer experience (internal and external) by identifying ways to improve and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Supports departmental goals required for ops team tracking/accountability.
  • Follow lithium battery shipping requirements issued by IATA and Dept of Transportation Dangerous goods regulations.
  • Provide excellent Customer Service by telecom, email and interpersonal. Provide mentorship to customers on all shipping related inquiries and questions.
  • Process shipments in system and manually as the need arises.
  • Post all outbound mail for delivery to the Post Office or for overnight delivery agencies
  • Gathers and reports on S&R metrics such as inbound and outbound packages
  • Receives and distributes UPS, FedEx, assorted courier packages
  • Maintain good working relationships with couriers and vendors on site
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving functions at the facility.
  • Manage dock organization and shipping supplies.
  • Operate electric carts, forklifts, pallet jacks

What We Need to See:

  • Experience in international and domestic transportation/logistics field, including working with import/export documentation and regulations.
  • Must work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with multifaceted requirements
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, and performs multiple tasks at the same time
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office tools such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience working with couriers/carrier’s booking system and their customer service (FedEx, DHL, UPS and Forwarders).
  • Knowledge of International Transportation and Trade regulations.
  • Ability to work off hours occasionally.
  • Excellent attendance and willing to learn demeanor.
  • Must be an excellent teammate and support team members as needed with open communication.
  • Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.

Position requirements:

  • Attention to detail, able to follow thru with directions from management.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills essential.
  • Proficient in all aspects of international shipping
  • Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
