As an Automation Jr. Engineer III at Jabil, Inc., you will play a key role in supporting the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing solutions, ensuring efficiency and reliability across various production processes.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Assist in the design, development, and testing of automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and other control technologies.
* Support the integration of automation solutions into existing manufacturing lines and processes.
* Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and optimize current systems.
* Participate in troubleshooting and debugging automation equipment and software to resolve technical issues promptly.
* Conduct preventative maintenance on automation machinery and document maintenance activities.
* Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including electrical schematics, program logic, and operational procedures.
* Learn and apply industry best practices for safety and quality in automation system design and implementation.
* Support the training of production personnel on new or modified automated equipment.
* Continuously research new automation technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
* 1-3 years of experience in an automation or manufacturing engineering role, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
* Basic understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI development.
* Familiarity with robotic systems (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB) and their applications.
* Knowledge of industrial control systems and instrumentation.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
* Ability to travel occasionally as required by projects.
