The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing at Datavant plays a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the sourcing processes, procurement operations, and vendor management of a rapidly evolving Health Technology company. Managing a substantial annual spend of $320M, this leader will be integral in streamlining and advancing the Source-to-Pay, Vendor Management, and RFx processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in procurement, a proven track record of successful leadership, and the ability to influence and drive change at the executive level.The ideal candidate will be a change agent, driving transformation and efficiency in Sourcing, Contracting and end-to-end Procurement processes. Fosters skills development, community engagement, rigorous and routine analysis of vendor management-related data, collaboration, and a metrics-based approach to measuring performance among this team. Works extensively with Senior Director of Strategic Sourcing and Contracts within the Office of the CFO and his or her managers to ensure systematic collaboration of sourcing and contracts teams with separate procurement operations. The Candidate must be deeply motivated to make a positive impact for the Datavant community, exhibit enthusiasm and capability for pursuing a data- and customer-driven approach to establishing priorities, possess strong leadership qualities and professional integrity, and demonstrate a collaborative spirit that will benefit sourcing and contracting initiatives and the overall functioning of the Finance Operations function. 

 

You will:

  • Lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for BPO, Staffing, Technology, and other key categories. 
  • Ensure alignment with Datavant's overall business objectives, focusing on cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value creation.
  • Drive procurement-related M&A synergies by integrating newly acquired companies into existing sourcing frameworks. 
  • Identify and realize cost savings opportunities through consolidation, extensive vendor management, and optimized sourcing strategies.
  • Oversee the management of BPO and contract labor categories, ensuring that the sourcing strategies are optimized for cost efficiency, quality, and service delivery. Develop and maintain category strategies that align with business goals.
  • Develop comprehensive PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate sourcing strategies, results, and recommendations.
  • Establish, negotiate, and continuously improve key metrics and OKRs to drive sourcing vendor performance and cost savings. Implement a data-driven approach to track progress and adjust strategies as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that Datavant benefits from innovation, value, and strategic partnerships. Lead negotiations to secure the best terms and conditions.
  • Utilize procurement technology platforms, with a preference for Coupa, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing activities. Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure that procurement strategies support overall business goals. Lead cross-functional teams in sourcing projects and initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and innovative solutions to enhance accounts payable efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, providing insights and updates on accounts payable operations and strategies.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and address financial risks associated with accounts payable and procurement.

 

What you will bring to the table: 

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a strong focus on BPO, contract labor, and M&A synergies. Demonstrated experience in leading sourcing initiatives and delivering substantial cost savings. 
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with experience presenting to and influencing executive leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degrees preferred.
  • Proficiency in procurement technologies, with experience using Coupa strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and execute complex sourcing strategies. Experience with metrics-driven management and a deep understanding of OKRs.
  • Effective written/verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly collaborative style. 

Bonus points if:

  • Proficiency in working with spend-related data and analytics tools, cloud-based accounts payable and procurement solutions and ERP accounting systems (e.g. Coupa).

Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated salary range for this role is  [$160,000 - $190,000].
