A Day in the Life

This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic's Diabetes business. Medtronic has announced its intention to separate the Diabetes division to promote future growth and innovation within the business and reallocate investments and resources across Medtronic, subject to applicable information and consultation requirements. This separation provides our team with a bold opportunity to unleash our potential, enabling us to operate with greater speed and agility. As a separate entity, we anticipate leveraging increased investments to drive meaningful innovation and enhance our impact on patient care.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Shift Week 1: 6:00am-6:00pm (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)

Week 2: 6:00am-6:00pm (Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday)

  • May develop, evaluate, implement and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards pertaining to materials, techniques, or company products.
  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
  • Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
  • Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Evaluates, selects and orders equipment and equipment replacement parts that are most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
  • Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues.
  • Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and minimize equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Designs and propose equipment modifications, upgrades, and maintenance improvements of manufacturing equipment.
  • Supervises maintenance manufacturing equipment technicians.
  • Coordinates with the manufacturing area the equipment maintenance activities.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Engineering Degree
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Good managerial and communication skills.
  • Regulated industry experience (Medical devices, Pharma)
  • Solid technical understanding of engineering principles and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of mechanical engineering software (AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS).
  • Automated manufacturing equipment maintenance experience.
  • Technical supervision experience.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
