This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

The Senior Associate, Credit Distribution Team role presents an exciting opportunity to support the growth of HarbourVest’s Private Credit business. As a member of the global Investor Relations (IR) team, this individual will work closely with other key stakeholders internally such as the Private Credit investment team, product specialists, consultant relations, commercial operations, client service, marketing, and compliance to deliver the HarbourVest platform to institutional investors. The principal function of this role is to support the Credit Distribution Team in the management support and enhancement of credit-focused institutional investor relationships. Additional functions include tracking and monitoring the fundraising process and creating, editing and updating data across HarbourVest’s marketing communications efforts.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Has the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Foundation in private markets is preferred

What you will do:

Relationship Management & Fundraising:

  • Support the identification and outreach to new investor relationships, helping drive capital formation across HarbourVest’s private credit platform.
  • Assist in organizing and scheduling meetings with prospective investors, including pension plans, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, family offices, and investment consultants.
  • Collaborate with the global IR team to manage ongoing investor relationships and ensure effective communication.
  • Provide market feedback to inform and support product development and fundraising efforts

Positioning and Marketing Communications:

  • Contribute to raising the external profile of HarbourVest’s Private Credit business by assisting in the development and delivery of marketing materials and presentations to investors.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive landscape, and investor demand, sharing insights both internally and externally.
  • Help communicate the HarbourVest Private Credit story, including its track record, performance, and growth potential, to enhance investor confidence.
  • Track results and gather feedback on sales opportunities

Data Integrity

  • Maintain and update data in SalesForce to ensure accurate contact information and link investors to consultants as appropriate.
  • Update HarbourVest records on key contacts (departures/additions/transitions) and captured from industry trades.
  • Work with SalesForce manager to optimize reporting, monitor finalist activity and develop front sheets profiling key institutions
  • Development of new SalesForce reports

What you bring:

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience supporting presentations to institutional investors
  • Dedication to quality work product and prompt attention to detail
  • Experience with RFPs, and communications to institutional investors ideal
  • Previous experience supporting fundraising efforts for credit funds or similar alternative investment products.
  • Comfortable in a financial environment, working with and talking about fund performance

Proficient in communication skills, both oral and written, and proficient in presentation skills​

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience
