ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

You are a seasoned merchandising manager with a strong product eye and a deep understanding of apparel.

You know how to build brand-right assortments for APAC region, multi-channel business while balancing consumer demand, market nuance and financial objectives.

You’re strategic, data-driven and collaborative; comfortable partnering across design, production, sales and global teams to delivery assortments that feel relevant, commercial and distinctively Timberland (Rugged American Craft).

This role is responsible for driving hyperlocal lens and so requires someone who can put themselves in the mind space of the consumers in the APAC region and understand how to serve them, apply insights from them and make impact through coveted product.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Architect and lead the APAC apparel merchandising strategy across Digital, Retail, Outlet, Wholesale and Partner channels
  • Build brand-right assortments for a regional business spanning China, Japan, S. Korea, SEA and Pacific by market and channel while preserving brand DNA
  • Partner closely with Global Merchandising, Design and PD teams and Regional Planning team to align product strategy with consumer needs and brand vision
  • Brief the seasonal apparel needs and ensure they line up the needs of the consumer and business; monitor progress against objectives and adjust plans as needed in all aspects of APAC capsules to successfully deliver the line to market
  • Drive Channel differentiation and segmentation to optimize performance while maintaining a cohesive brand point of view
  • Deliver revenue and margin growth through close partnership with Design and Production on product development, costing and lifecycle management
  • Adapt assortments in response to emerging trends, category shifts and performance insights
  • Develop and oversee regional pricing strategies to achieve gross margin targets while remaining competitive analysis
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing merchandising team, building strong bench strength and supporting career growth

WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:

  • 8+ years of merchandising experience working within global fashion or lifestyle brand
  • APAC Regional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Merchandising, Marketing, Fashion or related disciplines
  • Strong product sensibility with a clear understanding of trends, consumer behavior and the competitive landscape
  • Proved ability to manage complex, multi-market and multi-channel assortments
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • Solid experience on SMU development and collaboration with other brands
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to travel as needed
