Position Summary...

This role will lead the Canadian Strategic Sourcing function for Walmart Canada and is responsible for developing the Indirect Spend Management (ISM) strategic planning/sourcing process for a portfolio that includes various complex Indirect spend categories. This role will lead a team to conduct spend and contract analysis across multiple spend categories building a 3-year plan to 1. Optimize Indirect spend management and build strategies to reduce costs and improve value. 2. Build and implement strategic sourcing best practices to advance strategic sourcing capabilities. 3. Work with key suppliers to optimize value, 4. Work with key stakeholders to improve engagement and participation in Strategic Sourcing Initiatives, and 5. Build strategic sourcing capabilities and develop talent.

What you'll do...

Develop and implement a comprehensive and strategic roadmap for all spend categories, designed to drive improvements in cost, quality and delivery performance driving continuous improvement and better value to the business.

Continually conduct market analysis, peer company benchmarking, supply risk assessments, and market purchase timing analysis by category. Ensure proper sequencing, budgeting, resourcing, and stakeholder support for projects

Working closely with the business to identify opportunities to deliver savings through rate, usage and process. This will require superior influencing and relationship-building skills as the function establishes itself.

Manage global suppliers, ensuring supply reliability and continuity, price stability, price predictability, innovation, and identification of alternative sources.

Optimize value, quality, and security of supply by measuring performance and maintaining relationships with suppliers. Ensure suppliers are performing to contracted obligations and service levels, and meeting stakeholder expectations. When performance issues emerge, lead interactions with the supplier to ensure efficient resolution.

Lead, develop and drive strong employee engagement to create and maintain a high performing team.

Deliver annual financial saving target for Canada GNFR spend through delivery of joint business plans for sustainable savings targets for each business area.
