Position Overview
The Development Services Senior Associate serves as a primary resource for the accurate maintenance of constituent biographic and gift data within The Advancement System (TAS) for The Ohio State University. The position processes gifts, manages biographic data updates, including relationships, contact information, and communication preferences, conducts donor research via LexisNexis, online investigation, and correspondence with donors, advancement officers, and fiscal officers, and maintains current knowledge of IRS, PCI, and OSU Fiscal policies to ensure regulatory compliance. The role handles sensitive financial information with a high degree of discretion, runs and analyzes regular reports to identify data inconsistencies, completes record reconciliation, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The position responds to internal and external constituent inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality, independently researches and retrieves information within established systems, and communicates with constituents regarding IRS and University regulations on charitable giving.
The Development Services Senior Associate also serves as subject matter expert for specialized gift and biographic data processes, supporting Advancement Records outreach and training, coaching staff on business rule changes, and overseeing user data quality. The role proactively expands its knowledge of advanced software and continuously reviews processes and training programs for improvement. While operating with meaningful independence, the position collaborates closely with and receives guidance from managers, particularly for complex or non-routine situations. This position requires a successful completion of a background check.

Processes gifts and manages biographic data updates in TAS (including relationships, contact information, and communication preferences), applying professional judgment and maintaining a high degree of independence, discretion, and adherence to defined controls when handling sensitive financial information. Accepts donations in accordance with University Audit regulations; conducts research via LexisNexis, online investigation, and correspondence with donors, advancement officers, and fiscal officers to identify donors, with awareness of tax, stewardship, and reporting implications. Maintains current knowledge of IRS, PCI, and OSU Fiscal policies. Runs and analyzes regular reports to identify data inconsistencies; completes record reconciliation and adjustments to gift and biographic data as needed. Recommends processing procedures and improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
