Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Experimenatl Machinist 1 based in Salt Lake City, UT.
What you will get to do:
Set up and operate various machine tools, including milling machines, lathes, and grinders.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
Fabricate and assemble components based on project specifications.
Perform inspections and tests on machined parts to ensure adherence to tolerances and specifications.
Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback and suggestions for design improvements.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Basic Qualifications for the Experimental Machinist 1:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in machining or a related field.
Experience operating manufacturing equipment, including mills and lathes.
Experience with blueprint reading and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Experimental Machinist 1:
Associate degree or certificate in machining technology or a related field.
Experience with CNC machines and programming.
Experience with CAD/CAM software.
Previous experience in a prototype or experimental manufacturing environment.
