Job Description

The Senior Manager, Marketing Communications is responsible for a consolidated and integrated leadership approach to all external communication and public relations activities across the Endoscopy Division’s Business Units.

This role is a hybrid position. You must be located near Dallas, TX, San Jose, CA, Denver, TX, or Phoenix, AZ, and you must travel 30% within the United States.

What you will do:

  • Translate business objectives and strategy into compelling content for specific audiences by collaborating with business teams and functional groups to plan, create, and enhance their communication strategies.

  • Lead cross-divisional efforts and teams for all major trade shows to align on messaging, engagement opportunities, research, maximizing Stryker’s presence, brand, and ROI.

  • Seek out opportunities to enhance and expand our customer reach via communications through best practice sharing across divisions and extending into the industry to build a strategy for maintaining our competitive advantage.

  • Develop marketing communication competencies among marketing teams, educating the product teams and dedicated BU MarComm representatives on the value and expected outcomes of marketing communications, aligned to the strategic direction of the corporation.

  • Empower business unit ownership of content through streamlined processes, best practice sharing, and consistent evaluation of success metrics.

  • Manage and maintain campaign calendar for external communication activities across all the business units to keep track of project status, establish priorities, and tracking deliverables.

  • Partner and collaborate closely with strategic communications function to identify opportunities for leverage

  • Lead cross-divisional collaborative campaigns for the division and sits on cross-divisional marketing and communication committees.

  • Cultivate and implement national media opportunities to elevate and promote Endoscopy’s brand and strategic imperatives, as well as opportunities for Endoscopy’s executive leadership team to further Stryker’s reputation and product promotion through the media.

  • Partner with Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications to shape the brand hierarchy for the Endoscopy division, working with the product teams to understand the strategic roadmap for our products, and how to communicate that roadmap to our customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute a divisional public relations strategy, proactively engaging key media outlets, and assisting team in managing designated PR firms.

  • Manage key agency partners for the division, monitoring spend, agency performance, areas of opportunity and service levels for the division.

  • Partner closely with corporate procurement to identify areas to maximize and leverage marketing communications spending.

  • Generate ideas and provide support to promote and grow the global brand; work closely with BUs and Product Managers to define, produce and execute marketing campaigns aligned to corporate strategy.

  • Serve as the brand leader for the Endoscopy division, working with designated brand implementers to ensure all internal and external comms are developed in line with brand guidelines and that a consistent customer experience is delivered across the Global Endoscopy business, supporting divisional and cross-divisional campaigns.

  • Monitor key competitor communications, use insight to make recommendations as to how to enhance Stryker’s communication performance and create differentiation for our customers.

  • Maintain a high degree of self-motivation, generate fresh ideas and foster positive team interaction.

  • Act in the best interest of Stryker, reflecting the values of teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect.

  • Lead a team of professionals, develop employees, which includes hiring, communicating company policies, coaching and counseling, administering performance appraisals, and enforcing company policies through appropriate disciplinary measures

What you need:

Preferred  

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of work experience

Preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in medical device marketing or communications

  • 4+ years of experience in people management

  • Experience managing multiple projects and achieving deadlines

  • Experience working in a matrix organization

  • Experience identifying, building and implementing tools that drive operational efficiencies

$112,800 - $239,800 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors

Travel Percentage: 30%
