Job Description Summary:

Provides cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting rooms and furnishings in assigned work area according to established policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities

(Marginal Functions = MF     Essential Functions = EF)

  • To maintain a clean and sanitized environment throughout the facility on a daily basis.
    • Provides customer service and pleasant interaction with all patients and families, guests, hospital staff, volunteers and vendors.  (EF)
    • Performs Standardized Cleaning Practices as per policy.  (EF)
    • Vacuums all carpeted areas daily.  (MF)
    • Restocks all housekeeping supplies in closets and on carts as per policy.  (MF)
    • Keeps accurate records and performs time studies as assigned.  (EF)
    • Follows all precautions as per policy.  (EF)
    • Changes and replaces privacy curtains as per policy.  (EF)

  • Picking up additional unscheduled cleaning functions.
    • Periodically perform deep cleaning as necessary and assigned.  (MF)
    • Reports maintenance, safety and infection control concerns.  (EF)
    • Communicates with Lead Housekeeper, Team Leader and Environmental Services Director verbally and through email.  (MF)
    • Adheres to uniform standards as per policy.  (MF)
    • Works in Laundry as assigned.  (EF)
    • Attends monthly meetings and education as scheduled.  (MF)

  • Other duties as assigned.

    • Reports any violation or suspected violation of this Code or other hospital policies or procedures to supervisor, Compliance Officer or through the compliance hotline.  (EF)
    • Attends and/or completes mandatory training regarding organizational compliance.  (EF)

Education and Experience Requirements

Requires: Effective verbal and written communication skills; and ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
