Job Summary:

Geisinger's School of Nursing offers industry leading nursing education, including an associate degree for LPNs and RNs. Job Duties:

The GSON Adjunct Faculty provide didactic and/or clinical instruction to groups of students according to regulatory and accreditation guidelines and academic standards. Prepares course syllabus according to School of Nursing guidelines. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation. Assists with the advisement of students and applicants.

This role is per diem. Shifts are typically 8-hours from 6:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.

A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required, plus a minimum of 1 year RN work experience. MSN is required within 5 years of start date.

Job Duties:

  • Assists full-time faculty in preparing course syllabus for all courses taught.
  • Prepares lesson plans for all clinical experiences.
  • Reviews and orders appropriate textbooks and other classroom and laboratory materials.
  • Conducts laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Participates in faculty and student body committees and activities as assigned by the Director.
  • Assists potential students in the accurate and timely completion of applications and participates in the selection of students.
  • Monitors the student environment to assure students a clean, comfortable, orderly and safe environment conducive to learning.
  • Adheres to educational standards, curriculum standards and regulatory and accreditation requirements in preparation and delivery of curriculum.
  • Evaluates student performance fairly, accurately, in a timely fashion, and in accordance with School of Nursing grading policies.
  • Maintains clinical expertise within clinical field.
  • Coordinates students' clinical experiences with appropriate clinical sites in accordance with clinical agreements arranged by the Director.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Required), Master's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)
