How you will create an impact

  • Reviewing underwriting processes and making recommendations for improvements​
  • Supporting senior underwriting leadership to ensure brokers’ services are evaluated​
  • Oversee expert reviewer process and ensuring feedback is acted upon by underwriters​
  • Report on compliance with key standards and processes​
  • Manage delegated underwriting management function ensuring that all underwriting disciplines and controls necessary for the underwriting of binding authorities are adhered to and escalated where necessary​
  • Participate in sign-off process of binding authorities​
  • Manage the wordings function ​
  • Oversee the external claims peer review processes​
  • Provide expertise and knowledge for an independent peer review of claims​
  • Provide regular quantitative and qualitative reports to Claims and Senior Management

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Deep technical expertise and knowledge of Marine products and underwriting processes​
  • Proven track record in senior underwriting leadership positions, influencing across teams and ensuring processes are adhered to
  • Leading and engaging technical, operational and underwriting teams​
  • Insight: Strategic perspective, critical thinking and decision making​
  • Agility: Cultural adaptability, pace and future focus​
  • Relationships: Trust, communication, influencing multiple stakeholders and ability to gain buy-in to new ways of working​
  • Commercial edge: Identifying and acting on risks, ensuring processes support underwriting discipline
