Commercial Trucking Claims Senior Examiner

Salary: Starting at $82,000-126,000, commensurate with experience and location

** This is a Remote Position **

SUMMARY:

We're looking for a Commercial Casualty Trucking Senior Claims Examiner who is a highly-motivated professional to join the Commercial Claims Liability Team. You will expand your technical and procedural knowledge as you handle claims involving complex coverage, high exposure, and litigation.  You will be working in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Handle GEICO's commercial, short-haul and long-haul trucking claims involving unrepresented individuals, pre-suit files and litigation files
  • Conduct investigations to determine coverage and liability for claims involving serious injury
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims for damages
  • Maintain a pending diary of claims, which you will work through settlement and resolution
  • Provide support to GEICO insureds that have become defendants in lawsuits and guide them through the litigation process
  • Provide direction to defense counsel
  • Travel to attend trainings, trials and other litigation process events
  • Present files to the Senior Director, the Head of Recreational Lines and the Property & Commercial Lines Executive

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of commercial trucking claims handling experience
  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service
  • Ability to actively listen to customers’ needs
  • Ability to negotiate effectively
  • Ability to multitask (listen and type; speak and navigate the system)
  • Must meet corporate attendance standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in taking claims to trial
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills

LOCATIONS:

  • This is a remote position


 

Annual Salary

$64,000.00 - $126,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
