Our Emergency Services Team have an exciting maintenance opportunity! You will be accountable for the coordination of a wide range of duties relating to the maintenance of all breathing apparatuses and portable fire-fighting equipment according to standard practices and procedures at our Base Plant location.

Experience and Education

· Previous experience working with breathing apparatuses and portable firefighting equipment is an asset

· 3M / Scott SCBA Certified Technician, Maintenance and Overhaul, Level 2 Are considered an asset
· Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Maintenance qualification from a recognized post secondary institution

· Standard First Aid certification

· High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

· Possess a valid class four driver’s license and a clean driving record

Key Accountabilities

· Ensure all hand held portable and dry chemical extinguishers are in a state of readiness at all times

· Schedule and conduct annual testing and maintenance to meet national fire protection association (NFPA) standards

· Ensure the reliability of all fire-fighting applications including foam carts, stationary and wheeled monitors, hose carts and nozzles by conducting effective service and repairs when required

· Keep all respiratory protective equipment in a state of readiness by performing regular service, maintenance and overhaul in accordance with all department and government standards

· Provide support to the training group during training courses ensuring all equipment is maintained to a high standard

· Provide support to the emergency response group as a trained ambulance driver

Location and Other Key Details:

· You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
· The shift schedule is 4 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on 4 days off - 12-hour shifts
· This position is safety sensitive
