Summary of Job Duties:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for producing general nuclear medicine and PET/CT images for medical interpretation and administering therapeutic radioactive isotopes. This includes relaying instructions to patients, following procedure protocols, injecting radioactive isotopes, acquiring images, processing images, reviewing images for accuracy, and ensuring image quality by performing equipment QA.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Successful completion of an approved Nuclear Medicine Program

  • Certified as Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)

  • New graduate, up to one year of experience

  • Must obtain Arkansas Radiologic Technologist License prior to start date

  • CT Advanced Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or NMTCB must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine

  • 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Experience


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with patients and family members throughout the procedure and treatment process.

  • Enters patient information into database and uses digital ordering system to order isotopes for procedures.

  • Communicates with patients, coworkers and physicians through written and verbal communication.

  • Participates in continuing education programs and completes trainings for new procedures as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
