The Corewell Health Family Medicine Residency Clinic at Grosse Pointe is a teaching clinic with resident physicians who practice alongside supervising physicians to improve healthcare through education and research. This partnership allows our physicians to provide quality care to all our patients. We have seen significant growth and advancement with planned additional growth and advancement throughout the residency practice. The individual will work very closely with the Practice Manager, supervising physician, resident physicians, and clinical & clerical teams. As an RN, you play an integral role in the clinic. Our patients come from all backgrounds, and each have their own unique and often complex care needs. We serve the underserved and are proud to provide this service to our community.

Our RN Supervisor will lead a team of approximately twelve, RNs, and MAs, supporting twenty-four residents and ten physicians. The RN Supervisor will have direct knowledge of the team’s roles and responsibilities and there may be occasion to step-up and step-in to support the wider team.

Scope of Work

The Outpatient Nurse Supervisor coordinates and organizes clinical personnel and other resources to meet the patient care functions of the organization, in a cost-effective manner, and in conjunction with the operations manager where applicable. Has responsibility for clinical operations, orients, and trains clinical staff, and ensures competency for excellence in clinical practice. Develops process improvement initiatives based on best practice and participates in the development of policies and procedures. Supports quality patient care to meet regulatory guidelines and participates in Patient and Family Centered Care while also aiding individuals in a manner that considers their special or age-related needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
  • 1 year of relevant experience, clinical or ambulatory, Required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of progressive nursing leadership experience Required.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
