Job Description Summary

The STL Operations & Production Leader (OPL) will provide direct management and supervision to the local IUE 301 and local UA 128 hourly workforce in their daily operations, as well as any contractors supporting test operations. The OPL will be responsible for on time completion of test rig builds and facility readiness activities in preparation for test. They will also manage the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment with the support of the Facility Engineer. The OPL shall work collaboratively with STL Leaders to establish work priorities and report project status to key stakeholders. The OPL is also responsible for managing safety, training, lab scheduling including external use of facilities, lab shipping/receiving activities, Lean implementation and CMMS integration.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and management of local IUE 301 and local UA 128 hourly workforce.
  • Promote Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) best practices and process rigor. Facilitate all EHS regulatory training for the hourly employees, and coordinate classroom training for the entire Lab staff as needed. Monitor and update training tracking systems as required
  • Maximize usage of CMMS including but not limited to inventory, workorders, job plans. Approve and close out work orders submitted in the CMMS. Establish the work order priority with the hourly and engineering teams. Facility weekly planning meetings, identifying priorities and assigning support.
  • Work with engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise, such as drawing discrepancies and work instruction clarifications
  • Present key metrics and project status to internal team members.
  • Drive Lean initiatives and serve as EHS liaison for audits, concern reporting and training in the lab. Request and coordinate for necessary resources, such as scaffolding, safety supplies, tooling, etc.
  • Engage and motivate the hourly team to act w/ urgency & fulfil the company’s vision for a self-directed hourly workforce.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and repair of buildings and equipment including: the care and cleaning of buildings and grounds; the maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC systems; repair of plumbing and electrical systems; the upkeep of building envelope and interior.
  • Manage vendor support for routine facility and equipment maintenance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous management / supervisory experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

  • Ability to engage and motivate the hourly team to act w/ urgency & fulfil the company’s vision for a self-guided hourly workforce.
  • Established project management and Lean skills.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
