*This position will support the Northside Campus.

The Facilities Operations Manager partners with the location’s senior leadership team to lead day to day operations which includes strategic planning, legal and regulatory compliance, financial management and relationship development. The Facilities Operations Manager will also work directly with faculty and staff as a liaison to resolve problems related to facilities/maintenance/operations and onsite safety concerns. The Facilities Operations Manager will manage, oversee, maintain, and improve business processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with VCUHS policies and procedures.

Essential Job Statements

  • Oversees various departments across the assigned location and satellite offices.  Manages the daily operations, directing and organizing functions related to staff and patient care.  Oversees staffing needs and while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains operations policies/procedures.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Fosters a strong sense of collaboration, equity, and team spirit across the location(s).
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Leads problem solving efforts in regard to Operations/Safety/EVS/Nursing matters and monitors until resolved.
  • Provides insight and guidance for capital improvement programs/projects and collaborates with all necessary parties to ensure successful completion.
  • Develops and implements quality assurance and improvement programs.
  • Manages all aspects of onsite visits/inspections from compliance officials.

Experience Requirements: Five (5) plus years of related operations/facilities management experience.

Employment Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited program.

Licensing/ Certification

Licensure/Certification Required: N/A

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Prior progressive supervisory/management experience in a health care setting.

Combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.

Working Conditions: Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions; cold, hot, dust, wind, etc. Required travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids. * May have periods of constant interruptions.
