The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, recording, analyzing, and reporting accounting transactions to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records in accordance with established accounting policies and principles. This role provides comprehensive financial support, including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variances from budget. The Senior Accountant analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements, and reports, and begins to influence departmental strategy. This role reports to the Accounting Lead.

In this role you will: 

  • Managing the accounting of the business's monthly revenue and claims, and overseeing revenue cycle reporting and reconciliations. 

  • Preparing financial data, transactions, and reports, including responding to ad-hoc data requests from executive leadership. 

  • Collaborating with Health Care Provider Payment Platforms to ensure accurate financial terms within contractual arrangements and validating quarterly settlements. 

  • Developing methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing financial data, and preparing complex analyses. 

  • Leading or participating in special projects as required by the business. 

The Senior Accountant exercises considerable latitude in determining goals and approaches to assignments, making decisions on moderately complex to complex issues related to the technical approach for project components. Work is performed independently and contributes to the development and execution of departmental strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance
  • 5 years of Accounting or Finance experience
  • 2 years experience with SQL, Access, or similar
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience in managing monthly revenue and claims accounting, overseeing revenue cycle reporting and reconciliations, and preparing financial data, transactions, and reports 
  • Ability to respond to ad-hoc data requests from executive leadership in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Reside within 60 minute drive of Louisville KY and report to the office 2 days a week 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration 

  • Certified Public Accountant license 

  • Previous healthcare industry experience 

  • Experience with Essbase/Smartview 

  • Knowledge of Service Fund Reporting 

  • Knowledge of PL/SQL applications 

Location: The workstyle for this role is hybrid home with 2 days in office/3 days at the home office, Waterside Bldg, Louisville, KY.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$78,400 - $107,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
