The Contract Negotiator for the DEA Aviation Division is responsible for negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts related to aviation operations and services. This role ensures that all contracts comply with federal regulations and DEA policies, providing crucial support to the operational effectiveness of the Aviation Division.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)

  Contract Negotiation:

  • Lead negotiations for aviation-related contracts, including procurement of aircraft, maintenance services, and other aviation support services.

  • Develop negotiation strategies that align with the DEA’s goals and objectives.

  • Ensure favorable terms and conditions for the DEA.

  Contract Drafting and Review:

  • Draft, review, and revise contracts, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and DEA policies.

  • Collaborate with legal, financial, and operational teams to ensure contract accuracy and completeness.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in contract terms and conditions.

  Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

  • Ensure all contracts adhere to federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and other relevant guidelines.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure contracts are compliant.

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of existing contracts to ensure ongoing compliance.

  Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues.

  • Facilitate effective communication between the DEA Aviation Division and external stakeholders.

  Contract Administration:

  • Monitor contract performance and ensure all parties meet their contractual obligations.

  • Manage contract modifications, renewals, and terminations as needed.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all contracts and related documents.

  Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Collaborate with financial teams to ensure contracts are within budgetary constraints.

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting on contract expenditures.

  • Assist in the development of budget forecasts related to contract expenditures.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

  • The Contractor Negotiator shall have a BA/BS Degree or equivalent corporate or military background experience and minimum of four (4) years’ experience working fulltime in an Administrative career field and have demonstrated contracting experience with FAR procedures and requirements.

  • The Contract Negotiator must have excellent communication and organizational skills; and have a strong working knowledge of (1) general accounting; (2) procurement and contracting; and (3) contract law.

  • An extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

  • This position is a full-time responsibility and must be located at the main on-site Alliance Facility.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
