ADS - Data Architect

Role Summary

      Data architects are responsible for designing data infrastructure strategies, including the overall enterprise data management framework, data security, and compliance. Data architects focus on building and maintaining the technical infrastructure used to store, process, and analyze data. Self-motivated, organized, and efficient data architect and analyst with relevant technology experience and data processing skills. Data-driven and analytical innovator with excellent problem-solving skills, business acumen, and passion for contributing to large-scale data ingestion and research initiatives.

Essential Functions

• Collaborate with internal and external personnel, including system architects, software developers, database administrators, design analysts and information modeling experts to determine project requirements and capabilities, and strategize development and implementation timelines.

• Develop architectural strategies for data modeling, design and implementation to meet stated requirements for metadata management, operational data stores and Extract Transform Load environments

• Create and test physical data models for a variety of business data, applications, database structures and metadata tables to meet operational goals for performance and efficiency

• Design relational databases to support business enterprise applications and physical data modeling according to project requirements for data acquisition and security as well as customer-defined deliverables

• Review existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with original objectives, develop comprehensive strategies for improving or replacing underperforming areas and present these plans to managers and executives.

• Research new technologies, data modeling methods and information management systems to determine which ones should be incorporated into company data architectures, and develop implementation timelines and milestones.

• When needed must involve in Design and development of an applications in Java/ Python/Groovy & other Google cloud components (Development knowledge)

• Must be involved in Managing and deploying code to Google cloud (DevOps knowledge).

Skills/technical knowledge

• Experience 12-18 years in industry experience.

• Strong experience in Java, Python, UNIX Scripting, SQ, Big Data, Spark, Scala, Kafka, Spring, Hibernate, Spring boot.

• Working experience on cloud components BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Function, Cloud Storage and Cloud Datastore is preferred.

• Experience in multi-cloud platform - GCP, AWS, IBM Watson and AZURE etc

• Experience with API Gateways - Datapower, APIM, Apigee etc

• Proficient in Data Warehouse Migration strategy. Data from legacy systems to new solutions, On-prem to cloud.    

• Experience in NO-SQL databases to handle unstructured data

• Experience in Airflow/Ctrl-M/Cloud Composer

• Exposure to Payments industry will be an added advantage

• A strong understanding of distributed systems and strong experience using open source framework to build applications is strongly desired.

• Hands-on experience with Software engineering tools like GitHub, Rally, Jira, Confluence, VSTS 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Knowledge of below skills is a huge plus:

• Advanced analytical skills

• Exposing and deploying machine learning models to production

• A good understanding of the payment domain

• Medium to advance level of AI/ML knowledge.

Minimum Qualification

Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience as Data Architect.

Software Engineering, Information Systems or other Technical degree; additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered
