Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based asset manager, is seeking interns for Summer 2025. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a rotational program with our treasury, risk, and trading teams. Interns will take ownership of a variety of operational and investment-adjacent responsibilities, gaining exposure to multiple markets and asset classes. You'll quickly develop practical skills comparable to those of first-year buy-side analysts. High-performing interns are often offered full-time positions upon graduation. While no prior finance experience is required, familiarity with Python or SQL is preferred. The internship will run for 10 weeks from June to August 2025.

Highlights of a WAM internship:

  • We consider the internship to be the pipeline to full-time roles: we hire people who we think will improve our returns in the long term, and we invest in developing them accordingly
  • Each intern will work alongside experienced advisors, who are consistently available to provide guidance and feedback.
  • All interns complete our rigorous training program which includes an introduction to treasury, risk, trading, and our investment strategies
  • Interns will complete projects in treasury, risk, and trading that directly impact our business decisions and investment strategies
  • We have the flexibility to tailor projects for each intern to allow him or her to demonstrate current skills and to develop new ones
  • We host a variety of events in and out of the office throughout the summer to allow interns to get to know our business operations and investment teams at a personal level
