Job Summary:

The Caterpillar OEM Solutions Business is a 60-year-old, growing segment in Resource Industries with over 200% growth in the last 5 years and a mission to collaborate with Dealers and OEMS's to provide proven Caterpillar components, systems, and machines in specialty applications. Our customers value OEM Solutions products because we provide validated solutions and access to the Caterpillar dealer network giving our OEM products an advantage in the market.

We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader candidate to support our application engineers and lead our engineer project strategic growth portfolio. In this key strategic role where you will partner with our machine, components, and undercarriage application leads and commercial NPI and OTD NPI leaders to deliver our projects working directly with our OEMs and dealers. This is a very exciting role that will have exposure and leadership opportunities across our full product line. Additionally, this role will lead process excellence improvements leading Salesforce engineering projects using IT to automate processes to ensure compliance & achieve higher levels of integration with our sales, marketing, and OTD teams and to drive continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:

* Engineering Project Leadership for OEM Solutions Machine, Component, Undercarriage, and Services Projects.
* Creating project Statement of Work (SOW) and Engineering NPI project proposals
* Managing Engineering Project portfolios providing leadership regular visibility and escalation for projects & cross functional constraints

* Leading NPI design reviews collaborating the application lead engineers as part of the OEM Solutions NPI programs
* Providing engineering status and deliverables and risk mitigation plans in commercial NPI gateway reviews.
* Providing engineering configuration, releasing, and maintenance for OEM application lead engineers
* Providing Technical Information and Technical support to OEM customers
* Creating and Maintaining OEM Application Guides, Technical Data Sheets & Service Information for OEM offerings.

* Completing engineering designs in Creo and Caterpillar Team center as well as Maintenance Support for the product lines.

Education Requirement:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Ag Engineering

What Skills You Will Have:

Products and Services:
• Proficient in Caterpillar Machine & Component product lines, Systems Integration, or Undercarriage product lines.

• Capable of maintaining and developing product MGPP’s and executing strategy.
• Researches the target market and how the product and services are sold and delivered.
• Summarizes key features of major products & explains value of products and services.
• Collaborates with commercial and application lead to define product alternatives, to meet cost and pricing targets.

Technical Excellence:
• Proficient in Caterpillar Design, Product Development, and New Product Introduction (NPI) Processes.

• Engages appropriate subject matter resources to effectively resolve technical issues.
• Leads design reviews facilitating collaboration, providing superior technical solutions to business problems.
• Assumes accountability for personal technical performance and holds others responsible for theirs.

Project Management:
• Utilizes preferred tools, techniques and methods for estimating project cost and time.
• Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.
• Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.
• Conducts regular and ad-hoc & formal project design reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.
• Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring dashboards and holds portfolio reviews to ensure management aligment..

Team Management:
• Provides leadership for timely project kickoffs and alignment to Commercial NPI timing and goals
• Manages a team to the successful completion of a project or task.
• Recognizes the contribution of each and every team member publicly.
• Leads team meetings to review progress and performance, ensuring follow-up on previous decisions.

Requirements Analysis:
• Partners with Application Lead engineers to create project requirement specifications and Statement of Work for external clients.
• Develops engineering project estimates and R&D forecasts for business cycles and annual business plan approvals.

Troubleshooting Technical Problems:
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to challenge design concepts and troubleshoot integrated systems.

• Relationship with Product Support team and understanding of Product Support processes required for NPI programs.
• Leadership for tracking and resolving difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems during NPI programs.

Product Design and Development:
• Capability to leverage existing Caterpillar into new OEM applications and manage integration design changes required to meet customer requirements.

• Creates standard processes and tools to expedite or simplify the quoting and development process.
• Collaborates with downstream process partners, primarily purchasing and order to delivery and hold them accountable to meet the customer commitments.

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position will require less than 10% travel.
