PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

The Shuttle Driver position is responsible for serving as a shuttle operator and an information source, providing miscellaneous services as herein defined to customers and tenants.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Operates a golf cart, shuttle bus and/or trolley safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately completes driver trip sheet for each shift.
  • Knowledgeable of pick-up and destination points serviced by the fleet including specific stores and restaurants, lodging destinations and business offices and be able to communicate these to guests, passengers or other persons.
  • Accurately relays product knowledge to respond to all Guests’ questions pertaining to promotions and amenities available at the Shopping Center.
  • Responsible for representing Simon to customers by providing high quality, efficient service.
  • Provides passengers with appropriate information regarding shopping, dining, lodging, entertainment and attractions in and around the Shopping Center.
  • Responds to requests from dispatch or management for unscheduled pick-ups or drop-offs.
  • Assists passengers in boarding and exiting vehicle.
  • Loads and unloads luggage, packages and other items.
  • Transmits and receives over two-way radio system and/or cellular phone.
  • Reports accidents or other safety situations to Management.
  • Treats all passengers, guests and other persons in a courteous, friendly and professional manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional physical appearance of the shuttle including marketing materials; signage, displays, etc. and ensuring that all displayed information is current and relevant.
  • Inspects exterior and interior of vehicle at beginning of each shift for properly operating headlights, turn signals, brake lights, interior courtesy lamps, warning lamps, properly inflated tires, windshield wipers, vehicle damage, etc. prior to moving vehicle.
  • Responsible for ensuring inside and outside of vehicle are properly cleaned and fueled on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage and submits to Management.
  • Connects with the property management staff regarding corporate policies and procedures. 
  • Understand disaster plan role and the implementation of said plan if needed.
  • Performs job duties following the established guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by the corporate or management office.  Any problems or unusual occurrences should be discussed with the Operator’s supervisor.
  • Provides support and assistance to co-workers and to other departments as requested by supervisor; participates in team meetings and efforts to implement the center’s projects and achieve the center’s goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years-old with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess any state required documentation for driving passengers.
  • Ability to sustain a work load consisting of exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to ten pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to communicate by telephone, two-way radio and in person in clear fluent English in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with customers, guests, co-workers and other persons.
  • Must be able to read, understand and complete all forms and read and understand inter-office communications, schedules or other documents.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
