THE JOB

Reporting to the VP of Network Services, the Director of Venue IT will manage a regional team of Venue IT Managers that collectively support over 150 venues across North America. This individual will provide oversight with project coordination, prioritization and over-arching logistics for many venue IT initiatives. The Director of Venue IT will run point on many aspects of the project, working cross-functionally with business owners, General Managers and other tech leads to execute the projects on time, within budget and with a focus on day-two support.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Work closely with Venue Nation IT leadership to fully understand business priorities and develop an effective strategy for deploying and supporting leading edge technology to our venues.
  • Set up and manage programs/projects to deliver enterprise technology offerings
  • Assure that standard and repeatable-at-scale business cases are developed properly and that we deliver on those commitments.
  • Recognize areas for procedural or process improvements and implement accordingly.
  • Be an effective relationship manager to prioritize, organize, co-ordinate and effectively communicate multiple internal and external parties where required, to assure delivery of all of all approved projects.
  • Adhere to effective program management tools and templates, ensuring consistent standards for project plans, business cases, stakeholder communication, scope of work, requirements, etc.
  • Work with extended teams to identify, forecast and execute priority budget items
  • Provide a presence of confidence and experience to mentor developing team-members
  • Partner with other functional groups to develop, manage, track, and analyze operational support structures, tools, and procedures to gain maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and a quality customer experience
  • Establish functional strategic goals for improving operations, products and services. Initiate and direct activity aligned with achieving improvement goals.
  • Ensure managed service partners and external vendors are meeting established SLAs via effective reporting mechanics
  • Ensure Live Nation venue’s technical infrastructure is operational in accordance with established security procedures and best practices.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

  • BA or BS degree in business, technology or other related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a management role for an IT services team for a large enterprise
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Strong vision setting, concept articulation and exceptional communications skills (presentation and written) that would facilitate effective partnering with internal customers, critical stakeholders and technical leadership teams
  • Ability to manage geographically diverse staff and resources in both daily operations and event support
  • Willingness/ability to work off-shifts (evening and weekends) to support and/or lead Incident Management during critical events
  • Proven ability to establish operational procedures, technical direction and standards
  • Extensive experience working with vendors and ensuring successful delivery of services and results
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • An office at home that is conducive to a stable and productive work environment
