The Opportunity:
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now hiring Associate Registrar for Technology and Compliance. The Associate Registrar for Technology and Compliance provides technical leadership and management expertise to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and implementation of technology solutions central to the University’s mission. With direction from the University Registrar, this Associate Registrar position partners with the division leadership team to foster an environment that sets clear expectations and is cohesive, imaginative, data-driven and results-oriented, furthering a culture that is guided by rigorous analysis, testing and data-informed planning.
This Associate Registrar position exhibits a high level of creative problem-solving ability, resourcefulness, and the competence needed to conduct business process evaluations, develop short- and long-term technology goals, make recommendations, and execute projects to improve processes and technologies while ensuring compliance with university policies, accreditation standards and state/federal regulations. This position collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders such as Information Technology Services, Imaging, administrative staff, faculty, and third-party vendors and is critical in developing a comprehensive strategic and tactical technology infrastructure for the Office of the Registrar in support of the University’s Strategic Plan.
With responsibility for managing six employees (four business analysts and two transcript specialists) and supporting University-wide constituents and initiatives, this is a position for a skilled manager of people, programs and technology.
Responsibilities include the following:
Staff Development
- Collaborate and enhance relationships within the office and across the University.
- Provide employees with timely and challenging professional development opportunities for improving their skills and increasing their office and institutional effectiveness to deliver the highest quality of technology-driven services for our constituents.
- Ensure all staff are appropriately trained.
Operations
- Serve as the technical expert for core student information system applications and related technologies
- These information system applications include but not limited to, National Student Clearinghouse, NSLDS, Campus Solutions, Civitas, Parchment, Canusia, Imaging, Sharepoint and other products related to registrar responsibilities that interface with the student module.
- These related technologies include but is not limited to, the accuracy of required data transmissions and reporting, ad hoc reporting requests, analysis of operations and business processes, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and other duties as assigned.
Communications
- Draft and deliver communications, newsletters, emails, instructional materials, reports, and reviews.
- Review and revise internal announcements and other communications for accuracy and grammatical correctness and approve for dissemination when appropriate.
Projects and Planning
- Participate in the planning, designing, and implementation of innovative technical solutions to further the service mission of the Office of the Registrar; coordinate and perform enhancements and upgrades of critical systems as needed.
- Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet assigned expectations.
- Define the scope of projects in collaboration with key stakeholders. Serve as project manager on complex mission-based projects: assemble project plans and teamwork assignments, direct and monitor work efforts, identify resource needs, perform quality review, troubleshoot issues, create project plans, develop agendas for meetings, and follow-up between meetings.
- Facilitate the success of assigned projects: define, document, and consolidate the requirements from accountable leaders and work groups, create high quality deliverables such as workflow diagrams, policies and procedures, project timeline documents, and throughput reports.
- Serve as a team member, technical resource, and process facilitator on projects, providing analysis as requested and contributing to the development of ideas and proposals.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations and policies; design reports to support data integrity and access/role security.
- Delegate user role provisioning to campus registrar staff to process.
- Know and apply FERPA and other data security policies. Oversee and approve all sensitive data requests.
Other Job functions include
- Lead Registrar Data committee
- Participate in assigned committees
- Additional hours may be required during peak periods of the semester and for special events
- Other duties as assigned by the University Registrar

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree required; Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and/or at least 10+ years of leadership experience in higher education may be considered.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related work experience.
Required skills, knowledge, abilities:
- Expertise to lead teams and an open and collaborative leadership style that builds trust across constituencies among all campuses.
- A passion for advancing diversity and equity and enhancing inclusiveness; experience bringing individuals of varying backgrounds and differing viewpoints together to find common ground.
- Extensive knowledge of computer systems, data mining and information technology, along with demonstrated experience developing and utilizing that technology, in a large and complex university setting.
