Senior Information Security Analyst – Denver, CO (Hybrid)

Position Overview:

In this individual contributor role, you support ongoing oversight and monitoring of agent and vendor risks through your utilization of strong regulatory, compliance, policy, and process knowledge as well as skills and expertise with a variety of technologies and tools. You will directly support the extraction, management, analysis, and testing of agent data while also conducting information security risk assessments of vendor and agent information systems and controls. You will determine vendor risk profiles, evaluate vendor and agent information security risks, prepare risk assessment reports, and manage remediation plans associated with findings identified during risk assessments. Interactions with management, vendors, and internal operational and functional teams occur frequently. As the vendor and agent programs evolve, you will participate in creating and revising governance and process documentation as well as fulfilling operational tasks that drive program objectives and reporting. Some travel may be required. You will complete additional assignments as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management and Analysis:
    • Utilize SQL and Python to extract, cleanse, transform, ingest, load, and analyze large sets of data, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
    • Create insightful data visualizations and build data models using tools like Power BI.
  • Vendor and Agent Cybersecurity Risk Assessments:
    • Evaluate the cybersecurity risk profiles of third parties.
    • Conduct ongoing due diligence and information security risk assessments of third parties to identify vulnerabilities or threats to Western Union’ supply chain and obtain reasonable assurance vendor and agent controls meet security and compliance standards.

Required Expertise:

  • At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, information security, and risk management; 5+ years preferred. Bachelor of Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Security or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Proficient in Snowflake, Matillion, SQL and/or Python for data analysis and management.
  • Have a working knowledge of Common Table Expressions (CTEs), Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), managing workspaces, and packages such as NumPY, Pandas, and Snowflake connector.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience conducting vendor cybersecurity risk assessments and managing third-party risks using risk management frameworks and audit methodologies such as determining risk and scope, testing, raising findings and managing remediation action plans.
  • Working knowledge of a broad range of risk management concepts to include:
    • Risk assessment, and auditing methodologies and approaches.
    • PCI Standards.
    • NIST and ISO 27001/27002 Standards.
    • Legal, Regulatory, Compliance mandates (e.g., SOC and NYDFS-500).
    • Business Resiliency.
    • Vulnerability and Incident Management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of technology and security concepts to include but not limited to:
    • Security Architecture and Design
    • Application Security
    • Network Security
    • Cryptography
    • Cloud Security
    • Data Center Security
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
  • Multilingual (oral and written) is preferred.
  • Relevant certification such as CISSP, CISA, or CRISC is preferred.

Salary

The base salary range is $90,000 – 115,000 USD per year. Total on target compensation includes a base salary and short-term (10% of base) incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
